Our History

The idea of establishing an informatics study program at Juraj Dobrila University predates the University itself. In 2004, a Business Informatics program was launched at the Faculty of Economics and Tourism, laying the foundation for informatics development in Pula. In 2011, the undergraduate Informatics program was introduced, followed in 2015 by the graduate program with two tracks—Informatics and the Teaching Track.

The Faculty of Informatics in Pula was officially established in 2018, when the department was transformed into a faculty, completing the vision of creating a center of excellence in IT education.

The Dean of the Faculty is Associate Professor Darko Etinger, PhD, under whose leadership FIPU continues to grow and enhance its programs, ensuring high-quality education aligned with modern technological challenges.
